Year 9 donned their DofE packs for a day of practical training in camping stove safety, tent building, and orienteering. The changeable spring weather saw the pupils brave the shortest of hail showers, but also enjoy the March sun: definitely a lesson learned on the importance of layering! The 3-hour practice walk saw them put the country code into action, and translate what they could see on the map into the real world. The groups left Chorleywood enthusiastic and more prepared for their June assessed expedition.
