In History, Year 7 girls study medieval England, starting with the Norman Conquest.
After learning how William the Conqueror won the Battle of Hastings, girls have studied how he took control of England, through the construction of castles across the country.
One year 7 class decided that they wanted to put their new knowledge to the creative test by making their own castles. The girls designed and built a fantastic set of castles that ranged from the motte and bailey to more defensive castles with curtain walls and round towers to defend their inhabitants. One pair even made a motte and bailey castle cake! Well done to all the class who drew, designed and constructed their castles.
