As GCSE Results Day arrives, we are delighted to celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2026. This year’s results reflect an exceptional level of academic accomplishment, with 46% of all grades awarded at Grade 9, 75% at Grades 9-8, more than 90% at Grades 9-7 and 37% of the year group achieved grades 8 or 9 in every GCSE they took. These outcomes are a tribute to the determination, perseverance and ambition shown by our pupils throughout their time at Francis Holland Sloane Square.
Academic results, however, tell only part of the story. This year group has enriched every aspect of school life: Among them are performers, sporting competitors, artists, scholars, linguists and leaders, each contributing their own talents and passions to the FHS community. Their success in public examinations sits alongside countless achievements beyond the classroom and reflects a cohort whose energy, creativity and commitment have made them a pleasure to teach and support. Days like today rightly focus on our pupils, but we are also reminded that achievement of this kind has been made possible through a combination of their commitment, the dedication and expertise of their teachers, and the steadfast encouragement of families who have supported them throughout their time at Francis Holland. Together, they have created the environment in which these girls have flourished.
As they move into the Sixth Form, these pupils have built a strong platform for future success. Alongside excellent results, they have developed the independence, confidence and intellectual curiosity that will enable them to make the most of the opportunities ahead. They exemplify so much of what is special about Francis Holland: academic ambition, breadth of interest, kindness of spirit and a willingness to embrace challenge. We congratulate every pupil on her achievements and look forward to seeing all that they accomplish as they continue their journey through the Sixth Form and beyond.
