Year 1 had a splendid day in the sun harvesting garlic to bring back to school on top of learning about an abundance of plants survive during the change of seasons.

For many girls it was their first trip to the Chelsea Physic Garden and they were extremely excited to learn about the pond life which was thriving. One group successfully made friends with a frog who they decided would have made a wonderful class pet. Mr. Russell declined the girls’ insistent invitations to bring the amphibious friend back to FHS! Giant water lilies, banana trees, passion fruit flowers and cacao were among a few of the girls’ favourite exotic species of plants. They hope to visit the garden very soon again.
