It looked like London Fashion Week had come to Francis Holland on 31st March as girls and staff participated in our first ever charity ‘Trashion Show’.

Teams of designers from throughout the school submitted ideas for outfits created entirely out of recyclable goods and 14 finalists were then selected to show-case their designs at the final on the 31st. Models included girls from many year groups as well as some teachers! Our panel of judges included London’s Young Designer of the Year, Ellie Sloane, our own Art & Photography teacher, Miss Arlington, and Deputy Head, Mme Remy-Miller. It was a difficult decision but in the end there were three runners up – Fitzierrez, Makin Designs and The Tin Foil Twins – and the winner was Crisps R Us. The winners’ design, a stunning wedding ensemble fabricated entirely out of crisp packets, won them a collection of brilliant prizes including an exclusive tour of the Fashion Retail Academy and designer Ellie Sloane’s studio. The event was run in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust and the Major’s Fund for London and raised over £300 for these two worthy causes.
