Tuesday’s Summer Festival of Music was, as ever, an amazingly joyful celebration of the Music Department and brought the efforts of everyone involved to an excellent end of year culmination.  Students, as befitted the jazz and pop music being performed and the informal ‘vibe’, were allowed to wear their own clothes and the whole event was so colourful.  For the first time we took a great risk (it paid off!) and held the evening outside in the playground (partly to accommodate the large numbers amongst the audience).  It had the feel of the main stage at a festival…!

Too much excellence (what a great thing to be able to say!) makes it difficult to pick out particular highlights, as we were led expertly through the programme by our compères (Lower Sixth students Inga, Holly and Eva) but, suffice to say, there was dancing in the aisles when everyone joined together at the end to sing an impromptu rendition of ‘Walking on Sunshine’.
