Yesterday, we welcomed Professor Harris Makatsoris, who spoke to our Sixth Form about his journey into engineering, describing how he explored many different areas of the field before applying his skills to real world challenges such as developing drugs that are now used in medicine. He also gave us a glimpse into what day to day life looks like for chemical and other engineers, showing the real impact their work has in the world. His talk showed how engineering can open unexpected pathways, link together different branches of science, and lead to discoveries that directly improve peopleās lives, which is an inspiring and important message for students thinking about their own future studies and careers in the medical and engineering field.
