This February, Lower Sixth geographers embarked on a fantastic journey to chilly Shropshire to investigate both extreme weather and rebranding in the local area.

We rose at the civilised hour of 8.06 on Friday morning to depart from Euston and have an easy trip with beautiful scenery to be met by the wonderful Louise at Shrewsbury station who promptly delivered us to Preston Montford Field Centre.

What followed was three terrific days of investigating including venturing outside armed with rain gauges and oktas taking daily weather recordings, as well as a brilliant trip into Birmingham to assess its rebranding. Highlights also include the beautiful and delicious town of Ludlow and a great game of charades in the common room.

The experience was enjoyed immensely by all as in addition to learning masses of useful geography, we had great fun in each other’s company.

Thank you Miss Townend from all your Lower Sixth Geographers for being the mastermind behind the trip and making it so much fun!
