There has been much excitement in the Junior School where we were again able to make a Skype connection with our partner school, Mazeen School, in a refugee camp in Syria.

Despite battling the odds, with an electricity failure and the shoeboxes being held at the border for over 2 months, we were able to share in the joyful arrival of the gifts. It was clear to see the excitement and gratitude of the children in Syria along with the glee of our girls here in London at being able to share the moment together.

One girl from Mazeen School said, after thanking Francis Holland School for the gifts, ‘we haven’t received presents in a very long time’. It fills our hearts with gratitude for what we have and for what we are able to share with others, thank you to all Junior and Senior girls and parents who took part in this initiative. You might be able to spot your shoebox in the pictures!
