The Senior Chamber Choir sang with St Pauls Girls’ School Choir on Wednesday 30th November in a special concert in Cadogan Hall.
The concert, which was part of the 4th London Festival of Bulgarian Culture, contained a wide range of pieces, from ‘Bach to the Bulgarian Deep Bass’. The festival is held every two years and includes music, cinema, theatre, and exhibitions. Since 2010, over three hundred Bulgarian, British, and international artists have taken part in the festival, including the English Chamber Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the London Bulgarian Choir, with a combined audience of over 20,000.
The Senior Chamber Choir, which is formed of girls in Years 9 to 13, performed Pergolesi’s beautiful Stabat Mater and a psalm setting by Brahms, accompanied by the well known ‘London Mozart Players’. The repertoire was very challenging and they sang superbly, surpassing themselves. They looked lovely too in their new choir dresses!
