On Friday 6th December, Nicola Horlick, the Liberal Democrat candidate for Chelsea and Fulham addressed the sixth form at Francis Holland.
She talked to the girls about her life working in the City and how her strong feelings about Brexit compelled her to stand as a prospective Parliamentary candidate. Nicola also explained to the girls about her perceptions of why many people in the north of England voted to leave and why her own experience suggested that remaining in the EU would be better. She was not given an easy ride by the students, who asked her plenty of questions about her beliefs and stayed afterwards to finish their conversations. Perhaps most importantly, she emphasised to the girls the importance of using their vote and playing their part.
Chelsea and Fulham has never had a female MP – perhaps she will be the first!
