Well done to all the girls participating in our annual MFL poetry competition!

It was wonderful to be treated to such splendid, heartfelt performances from our Year 7 girls all the way to our very busy Sixth Form students. All the participants, whether second language learners or native speakers, demonstrated the high level of linguistic competence our students achieve.

The competition also show-cased the many different cultures that contribute to our vibrant school life. The “Jennifer Anderson Prize” for overall winner went to Ypatia Fafalios, Year 9, for her wonderfully expressive performances in French, Spanish and Greek.

We would like to give our warmest thanks to Madame Stevenson, former Head of MFL and Senior Mistress at FHS, for being our judge this year and agree with her that is was a most enjoyable occasion.
