On the 15th June, years eight and nine came together for the annual Lauda Sion Latin competition.

As with every year, the girls performed to a very high standard. Most girls performed stories from the Cambridge Latin Course textbooks but a special mention goes to Tahira, Gaia and Lucy who performed a traditional Latin poem called “The Sparrow”. The costumes were very kindly donated by the Latin department and were a very nice addition to the competition. On a whole, this competition embodied humour, dedication and skill from the girls, but of course some went a step further in their performances. Congratulations to Valerya and Emma, who won the year 9 competition, Grace, Cara and Lily, who won the year 8 competition, Cassie and Caterina, who were highly commended and Lana who won best individual performer. A big thank you to the Classics Department for organising this wonderful event.
