The girls have been busy recycling for our eco-friendly themed STEAM and Enterprise Week.
The girls created natural and recycled products to sell at the Enterprise Fair after half term. Candles (made out of beeswax), lip balm (made from coconut oil) and jewellery made from old Radio Times magazines are some of the recycled products that will be on sale! The girls spent time designing, costing and marketing their products to ensure they raise as much money as possible for charity from their hard work.
Girls were encouraged to think about environmental issues by building flood proof houses, wind turbines and floating gardens out of lolly sticks, paper straws, tin foil and paper cups. The girls were also tasked with building an ‘unsinkable’ ship out of recycled materials that could collect plastic waste from the ocean and winners were crowned from both KS1 and KS2.
It has been a fantastic week as the girls explored science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics through a range of activities that allowed them to exercise curiosity, communication, perseverance and resilience.
