Today’s Harvest Festival Service provided a wonderful opportunity for our Senior School pupils and staff to thank God for the many good things he provides for us; not least our food, and of course the beauty and wonder of our natural world. We enjoyed singing ‘Creation Sings the Father’s Song’ and Rutter’s ‘For the Beauty of the Earth’: ever a favourite school hymn. In my talk today we explored Jesus’ invitation to connect our lives into his love, as given in John 15, when Jesus describes himself as the vine, and his followers as the branches. Later on the day’s fruit theme continued with apple pressing in the playground.
