The long-awaited return of FHS’s Got Talent rocked the school to its foundations this Tuesday evening.

Girls and Staff in the audience were blown away by the commitment and bravery on display from all corners of the school community. The sheer level (and variety) of talent on display was impressive: from raucous rap battles and sing-a-longs, to beautiful original compositions (and everything else in between: Gorillas playing the drums! Lip Sync Battles! New Orleans Piano Stomps! Biology teachers telling jokes…)

As well as raising £410 for the school charities (and having a whole lot of fun in the meantime) we definitely proved that, without a doubt, FHS’s Got Talent!

Even more successful than last year’s performance, the Francis Holland Talent show was again re-cast and shown to display the array of talent all over the school. The line up went from teachers cracking jokes to young rappers dressed head to toe in bright, shiny lemon jumpsuits. Iconic covers such as ‘the cup song’ and High School Musical appeared on the stage as well as our very own original talents that performed their own compositions.

Of course, the night was not only about celebrating the talents but getting the audience involved in the performances that had come to support them and were raising money for wonderful charities: In Deep and the Katherine Low Settlement. This was done in various ways from jumping to the sound of the piano as instructed to the own initiative of the audience using props to encourage the performers such as flashlights from their iPhones. The whole night was based on the idea of fun and not taking each other so seriously and this was also demonstrated in the informal presenting and various mishaps which just made the night more enjoyable for everyone. By the end of the night the audience were offered to buy raffle tickets and were rewarded with gifts personalised by the staff themselves truly showing the ethos and close community we have at Francis Holland school.
