Evensong at Holy Trinity Church, Sloane Street

21/05/2026

On Sunday, our Chamber Choirs joined forces to visit Holy Trinity, Sloane Street to sing and lead worship for their usual Evensong service. The girls sang exceptionally and filled the beautiful walls of the huge church with emotive and sensitive renditions of the regular liturgical repertoire for the service. It is particularly impressive to have so many students show excellent commitment and dedication in attending this event in a busy period of term, and we are grateful for their resilience and maturity in preparing and showcasing the brilliant music. It was a lovely and meditative service in which the girls were excellent ambassadors for FHS and enjoyed a taste of what it was like to be a regular high-quality Anglican Church or Cathedral choir.  We give many thanks to Father Michael for inviting and having us for the service, and for his warm words to the girls before and after their singing.

I am grateful for Holy Trinity Church for having us and look forward to our next visit. Thank you also to Miss Vickery and Miss Murata for singing and accompanying the girls brilliantly, to Mr James, our organist, as well as the singers and the parents in the congregation for their everlasting support of the girls’ beautiful singing.

Mr Mercer, Director of Co-Curricular Music
