On Tuesday 26th April we were captivated by two excellent entrepreneurs who were truly inspirational as they told us their stories about founding their own businesses.

The evening began with Harriot Pleydell- Bouverie who founded Mallow and Marsh. It was fascinating to hear about her journey and how she achieved her goals and even turning down Dragons Den! The three things I will remember about establishing my own business from her talk are: you can start a business with limited funding, use your contacts to develop and gain support for your idea, and learn from your mistakes because you will make a few!

The second speaker, Fraser Doherty founder of SuperJam, was equally as inspiring as he told us his story of making his Grandma’s secret jam recipe in the kitchen to seeing it on the shelves at Waitrose and selling it internationally.

We were amazed at their achievements considering how young they both were and how they used their mistakes to develop their businesses. They taught us that if we persevere with our plans, we can succeed in our endeavours. The evening was extremely enjoyable and left us all motivated to start our own businesses.
