As Results Day rolls around, we could not be prouder of the Class of 2026 and all they have achieved. It has been another year of wonderful academic success at Francis Holland Sloane Square, with 16% of all grades at A* and 88% at A*-B. These grades are a reflection of the ambition, hard work and resilience of our students and we hope every single one of them finds time over the next few days to reflect, with pride, on what they have achieved in their time at FHS.
Whilst we proudly publish our students’ achievements in this form each year, we must also take care not to lose sight of the individual under a mound of statistics. The Class of 2026 is made up of 70 unique and fearless young women, who are ready to go out into the world and to make their mark on it. These grades are sending them off on a bewildering array of different adventures. Whether it is Phoebe, who is off to read Classics at Oxford, or Bea who is off to read Astrophysics at St. Andrews, or Eleonora to read Architecture at UCL. Whether it is Antonia who is off to do stage management at RADA or Octavia who is off to Georgetown or Ella who is off to St Gallen, each and every one of our students leaves us to begin the next stage of their adventure, equipped with the academic and pastoral skills needed to tackle whatever the world throws at them.
It has been another incredible year for the EPQ at FHS, both in terms of results and the ambition and variety of the projects. With 51% of all grades at A* and 83* at A*-A, these are our best ever EPQ results. This success is all the sweeter because the EPQ is a properly independent project that develops skills vital to their futures at university and the workplace.
Whilst it is right that the girls take centre stage today, we also know that such academic success is a collaborative effort. These grades are the result of the students’ hard work and dedication, but also of the meaningful and collaborative relationships they share with their teachers, who have put an extraordinary amount of care, compassion and challenge into their work with this cohort and also a result of the same from their families who have supported them and us throughout their time with FHS.
The Class of 2026, with their dazzling array of interests and passions and futures, are the embodiment of what we do at FHS. We could not be prouder of them and wish them every success in the next chapters of their lives.
