We are very thrilled to now have the letters pertaining to the naming of the ballet studio written by The Rt Rev’d and Rt Hon Richard Chartres KCVO DD FSA, Bishop of London, framed and hanging in the Dame Antoinette Sibley DBE Ballet Studio.
We are still very hopeful of a visit at some point from this most revered and now retired Bishop and friend of our school.
The letters, from left to right, read:
‘Dear Mrs Hitchen
I was very interested to learn of your conversation with Frances in the office here and I am very sorry that is has not been possible to fit in a visit to your studio so near the opening on 28th November. With the weeks slipping by so quickly now before my retirement in February the diary is very full but I could not let the occasion pass without sending a note to you to say how please I was to learn of the studio and I hope the enclosed can be used at the opening.
With all good wishes
The Rt Rev’d and Rt Hon Richard Chartres KCVO DD FSA’
‘Mrs Valerie Hitchen and all ballet pupils past, present and future:
The Dame Antoinette Sibley Studio
I admire your determination to obtain a specialist Studio for the ballet students and I am delighted that you have now succeeded and I shall be thinking of you all especially today, 28th November 2016 as the new Studio is officially opened.
This comes with my good wishes to all who train at the Studio in future years.
