Last Thursday a VIP arrived in lab 2 to join the Year 4 Junior Scientists to take part in static electricity experiments. He was tall, cuddly with tousled blond hair. He bumbled through the door guffawing with laughter and all the scientists gasped Is that who we think it is? Miss McLaren eyes gleamed with delight at the arrival of this very special visitor. Methinks I have a suitable guinea pig for the scary Van der Graff generator Miss McLaren announced in her delightful Scottish accent to the baying junior scientists.
Our special gentleman, code named B, proceeded cautiously to the generator where the Junior Scientists politely forced his hands on the gleaming silver sphere. B looked up with fear in his eyes as Miss McLaren boomed to Xenia Switch on the power and turn up to the maximum speed NOW! Bs eyes began to bulge and his tousled hair started to stand on end. The Junior Scientists were riveted at the sight of B and at the wonder of static electricity. He did not stand a chance as the charge surged through his body. B attempted to escape but was stopped in his tracks when one Junior Scientist commented that an electric shock would pulsate through him if he did so! Laughter resounded through the lab as Bs hair took on a life of its own. Once Bs humiliation was complete Miss McLaren switched off the generator. He looked crest-fallen and took tentative steps towards the exit We have not finished with our blond-haired guinea pig replied the Junior Scientists. B looked up in despair but his fate was sealed as the scientists covered his quivering frame with charged up balloons. Science had finally defeated this powerful man of London!
