On Tuesday 27th June, we held our A level Art and Photography Show.

The work was of an amazing standard as always. Very well done in particular to Marina, who received the Best In Show prize.

Marina chose the title Fold for her examination investigation and created an exciting and intellectual response, using a wide range of materials. The prize was presented by Claire Pestaille, an artist whose work explores historical and contemporary iconography, examining femininity through the disruption of photographic imagery. The source material for her work includes portraiture from the Golden Age of Hollywood incorporating film stills along with contemporary and vintage photography. She graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2000 and has since exhibited internationally.

The Photography Show was just as exciting and the students delivered interesting responses to subjects such as animal cruelty and emotional intelligence.

Well done to the students involved and many thanks to the Art and Photography Department for making such a show possible.
