ALUMNI
The Old Girls' Society has existed for over 100 years as an exciting and supportive alumni community. All those who have attended the school, whether staff, pupils or parents of former pupils, are members.
OLD GIRLS' SOCIETY
The Alumni Association has a dedicated website, allowing all alumni to register their contact details, keep in touch with other alumni and foster an exclusive professional network. A fantastic way to stay connected, the website features photos and news articles, upcoming events and a career mentoring platform.
Communicating responsibly with regards to reducing impact on the environment is of paramount importance, therefore alumni communication is sent primarily via email. To receive our email updates, please register on the alumni network using the link below.
HOW WE CAN HELP YOU
We love to hear from our alumni so please email us with your news. We are keen to support any individual requests, so if you:
- are hosting your own reunion
- would like a tour of the school
- are looking for your next career opportunity
- would like to support the school’s careers development projects
- wish to search our archives
… please let us know. Forthcoming events and deadlines can be found on the online network.
EVENTS AND PROJECTS
The Society organises a number of events and projects each year to support our alumni. Annually, these include:
- Lunch/Drinks Reception in March to celebrate the school’s birthday
- Newsletter published in January to celebrate alumni and school achievements
- Travel Fund announced in May open to all alumni
- Business Enterprise Award of up to £10,000 to support fellow Old Girls in business, announced annually in March and open to all alumni
For a full list of alumni events, please visit the dedicated alumni website.

Our Alumni Association Committee meets three times a year to discuss alumni matters and support individual alumni requests. The Society is keenly involved in the upkeep of the school’s archives, many of which are now digitised and can be searched on request.
-
We encourage alumni to support pupils as a Careers Champion or Mentor via the alumni network, offering mentoring, interview practice, work experience, talks and contacts; to volunteer or find out more, visit the Careers Page on the alumni network.
-
The OGS Travel Fund supports Upper Sixth and alumni travel (covering up to 25% of costs, max £1,000); the 2026 deadline is Friday 24 April 2026 — apply by completing the application form and emailing it to alumni@fhs-sw1.org.uk.
-
Published annually in January, the Old Girls’ Newsletter shares alumni achievements, school news and events — read it here or on the alumni network, or request a hard copy by emailing us.
-
A history of the school entitled ‘The School That Refused to Die’ was published in 1981. Copies are available; please contact our Alumni Department for further information. A large proportion of the school’s archival documents have also been digitised and are now searchable. If you are conducting research or would like to search the archives, please email us.
