Curriculum


Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9)

 

In the first year of Senior School (Year 7), pupils study Religious Studies, English, French, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, History, Art, 3D Study, Drama, Music, ICT and PE. In Year 8, Latin is introduced and Electronics replaces 3D Study. Pupils in Year 9 begin a second modern foreign language, which may be either German or Spanish and drop Drama and Electronics.

 


Key Stage 4 (Years 10-11)

 

The compulsory core of GCSE subjects is Religious Studies (short course), English, English Literature, French, Mathematics and Double or Triple Award Science. Pupils choose a further three GCSE subjects from a list of options comprising Art, Classical Civilisation, Drama, Geography, German, History, Latin, Music and Spanish. There is no pre-blocking of options, allowing pupils free choice in their combination of subjects. All pupils have lessons in Physical Education and some may opt to take a GCSE short course in Physical Education.
