The school-wide network enables our pupils to access their work saved on the servers and the internet together with their school-based email across the school site.
The main ICT suite is open at 8 am each day and during the lunch time for individuals and groups to come to work at their own items in a quiet safe environment. Both technical and educational support is available during these times.
Safety on the internet is secured by filtering techniques which enable areas which are not supportive of educational use to be blocked along with the usual inappropriate material.
Pupils have their own school email account which is similarly secured by software. The use of email has dropped significantly now that most girls use memory sticks to carry work from home to school rather than email large attachments.
The sixth form girls continue to use the software across all their subjects and at the end of the lower sixth start their university applications via the internet with UCAS no longer supporting paper applications. Many of these girls return to use the Mavis Beacon typing tutor they met earlier in the school to brush up their typing speed.
