Sloane Sequence One, the new Maths Club for years 8 to 10 held its inaugural meeting on Tuesday of this week. Seventeen girls came to learn about maths which is not usually taught in school syllabuses, such as why numbers 1001 and 42 are pretty much the same!
Membership of Sloane Sequence One is normally determined by performance in a Maths Challenge style quiz, but if you can figure out the connection between the name of the club and the shapes in the picture below, and you feel the need for an extra three quarters of an hour of serious maths after school every other Tuesday, you may want to come and join us!

The club is due to be held fortnightly on a Tuesday, but in order to avoid clashing with rehearsals and meetings for the school play at the end of November, it will be held on Tuesday 6th and 13th December.
