The Classics department at Francis Holland aims to provide a rigorous grounding in the Ancient languages and to foster a love of learning which acts as a suitable springboard for exploration of the Ancient World through its languages and culture:
- Your daughter will be provided with a challenging and stimulating curriculum, which enables her as an individual to achieve her potential.
- Through the teaching of language, vocabulary and syntax, she will be equipped with the tools to tackle translation and literature and also use the application of this in her study of Modern Languages and English.
We explore the values of the Ancient World and try to understand the way these have influenced Western Society.
