Headmistress' Welcome

Being Headmistress of FHS, Sloane Square, is both an honour and a privilege. Whether girls join us at 4, 11, 13 or 16, I delight in seeing them develop their individual talents and exceed their academic potential.

The warmth and friendliness of both the staff and girls at FHS is unique and I genuinely get to know every girl by name. It is important to me that your daughter feels she is an individual and has an opportunity to express and develop her own identity.

By providing a vibrant yet supportive atmosphere the girls really do flourish both academically and personally. In 2008 we achieved our highest ever A Level results with 66% A and 89% A-B. One of the most fulfilling points in the school year is sharing the girls' sense of pride and success as our sixth formers move on to the highly respected universities of their choice.

In today's world we cannot escape the importance of academic success, but FHS offers so much more in terms of a lively extra-curricular programme and a culture which rewards initiative and independence. We encourage the girls to take full advantage of the opportunities available to them in music, drama, art and sport and we promote in the girls a sense of charitable fundraising and community spirit.

The commitment you make to us in entrusting us with your daughter's future education is taken very seriously and I, and my highly experienced staff, constantly strive to exceed expectations, making your daughter's school life at Francis Holland one she will always remember with pride and affection.
