Half-term update on Carmel Hall: All the partitioning for each of the ten music practice rooms and storage areas is in place with the necessary plaster boarding and insulation to guarantee maximum sound proofing. Each individual room has its own heating and ventilation system in place. The ballet stage area in the main hall has had the under-floor heating installed. The lift shafts have been cut and we are awaiting the arrival of the lifts to be installed. Our original stained glass windows which were lovingly preserved when they were removed from the end of the main hall are being re-installed in the window areas running down the lefthand side of the main hall over half-term week.
Everything is now being prepared for the first and second fix of electrics and plumbing work. The good news is that building work is all on schedule and we are looking forward to completion of all work by June 2010.
